How do they do it?!?!

I am really impressed with a lot of authors out there who can have 2-4 books going at one time. That is a big accomplishment. I don't understand how they don't get things confused and twisted.
I write for my ya and my children's books at the same time, but those are very different. My youngest helps with the children's books, so that is mostly him. I find it a bit overwhelming.
I give props to those who can do this, especially when it is all in the same genre. WHAT IS THE SECRET?? I have only been writing for a year now, so I am sure I will get better as the time goes on, but for me, I like to focus on one thing at a time. Clearly I am not getting anything done in the 4 books that I have going right now.
A lot of the authors who do traditional publishing also take a year plus to write their books, not only that but they also have to go through several edits and rewrites. I feel like it is going to take me about a year to just get 1 of these books done at this rate.
I don't want to rush a book, but since mine are not very long, I think I should be able to produce 1 series each year.
I am a huge fan of series, but I also don't like to start a series, unless I know all the books are already out. I have no patience and I have to know how things end.
I ended up reading a book that I thought was a standalone....It was not, and not I have to wait until September of this year for book 2. It ended with a HUGE cliffhanger. I think about the book EVERYDAY!!
I don't want to do this to my fans. I want to be able to finish a series in a year and get it to them so they are not waiting a year for each book.
I published the first Secrets of Ullumia book on June 16th (my bday), and I plan on having the final book published on my birthday this year. See, 3 books, 1 year....Not a lot of waiting.
I really need to just focus on one book at a time. Start with the one that will go the quickest and then tapper down from there. I wish I could be like other authors, and I am sure I will get there when I have more years under me, but until then, I will do my best.
