Summer came and feelings grew

I thought I knew the heart of you

Wedding bells, exchanging rings

Was the beginning of wonderful things

Walks on the beach, your arms each night

The passion and heat, it all felt right

Summer fades with fall in mind

But you have left me far behind

Thanksgiving brought lonely times

Family gatherings and Christmas rhymes

Winter snow and yule time cheer

All I wanted was you near

Still thoughts of you fill my heart

But with each day a brand-new start

And with that start let spring arise

Opening my heart and eyes

Though we’ve gone our sperate ways

Thank you for those summer days.
